" TWO FRIENDS AND A WELL "

Many a times in life we get strength to do such brave acts or such an act of courage that later on when its done its hard for us to believe the fact that we did it. The reason behind that enormous power ,that strength that made us invincible is always a mystery for us. WHAT GAVE US THAT POWER.?

I experienced the same feeling when i was in Pune. For the very first interview of my life. In june-2012 , it was the first time i traveled that far away from my home town(ujjain) alone. my personal interview for application in #symbiosis #school of #photography , pune was scheduled on 19th June. I reached pune on 17th. Stepped out of the station , took a cab , booked a room , kept my luggage and rushed to sleep. I was afraid.

On the next day(18th)  after getting ready  , i somehow convinced myself to go out and explore. I went to a mall, had my meal, came back and went to sleep, Again.!
later in eve, I was to meet a mutual friend of mine who was already a selected candidate for the course and were to go to the campus together the next day. We meat at 6 PM. Then i Shifted to a less expensive hotel. Kept our luggage , went out for meal , came back, had some chat and went to bed. The Next day was THE DAY.!!

I woke up tensed !
We boarded the bus for college at 9:30 and reached the premises by 11:00. My interview was at 1 pm. we waited in the waiting room. Other applicants went in and came out. most of them were trendy and cool unlike a small town guy like me. It was 12:45. I was literally shaking with fear and anxiety. The attendant called me out. I stood up, took my portfolio in hand and went for it. As i was about to push that door and enter to Mr. Shirish r karale , director of SSP cabin, I closed my eyes and said to myself " I CAN DO IT ".
You wont believe me. As i entered through that door, i was practically a different person . I greeted him, he made me sit. Firstly,  He asked me to describe myself and my passion for photography and i did with a level of confidence and charisma  that i have never felt before. I didn't fumble(i usually do) nor did i illuminated anything. It was all from the heart. The whole interview went awesome. It was me that i never thought i could be. I was confident .NOW , HOW WAS I ABLE TO DO THAT ? WHAT GAVE ME THAT POWER ?

I got the answer in a STORY .
Its a story about two best friends who lived in a small village. they were like brothers. one was 7 and other was 10. Once a day while playing like usual they went quite far from the village. While playing the 10 year old boy accidentally fell into a well . He started screaming. he was screaming loud for help. he didn't know hot to swim. the 7 year boy tensed,  started looking for someone whom he could call out for help. but, he found none, no one was there. His friend was screaming with fear. Fear of death. Suddenly, the 7 year boy's eyes narrowed on a rope tied to a bucket.  Without wasting any time he grabbed the rope and threw the bucket in the well and asked his friend to hold it.  He started pulling the rope hard. hared and harder. his fingers burning with pain but that didn't stop him. he kept on pulling the rope like a madman. Harder and harder. he kept on pulling and ultimately brought his friend on surface.
On surface, They cried , hugged and rejoiced as they were safe and could rush home. But at the same time they were afraid about the consequences. what will happen when they will reach home and tell about their parents and villagers about the incident, they all will scold them and they will be punished severely.

But, matter of fact nothing happened. No one even believed them. all the people laughed and thought they were taking tales. because, a mere child of 7 who was not strong even to lift a bucket filled with water. then its a way too far a thing to believe that he could pull his friend out of the well and save his life.

They were telling the truth yet no one believed them. No one, except one. Rahim chacha, he was the wisest man to the village. He believed them. Everyone was shocked because Rahim chacha was the man who was always right and wise. They all confused, went for Rahim chacha and asked him to explain how the boy was able to do that act of strength and bravery.?

Chacha laughed and told them that the question was not about HOW he did it. the boy already explained it. He just threw the rope and pulled his friend out. the real question is WHY is was able to do it.? What gave him the STRENGTH. ?

Everyone frustrated asked chacha to explain this WHY himself. chacha answered.
" He said that when the boy was trying to save his friend . when he was trying hard to pull that rope. When he was trying hard to SAVE his friend , HE WAS ALL ALONE. no one was close to him. NO ONE WAS THERE. No one, who could tell him that " HE CAN'T DO IT . Not even HE HIMSELF ". So he did it.

That is the only reason i can connect to why I WAS ABLE to give that interview with flying colors( later i got selected from 500 candidates, but i didn't join) and that 7 year boy was able to SAVE HIS Friend's LIFE.
NO ONE WAS THERE  to tell us That WE CANT, NOT EVEN WE OUR-SELF.

So don't let anybody ever tell you that you can't do something. Ohh YES, YES YOU CAN.!!
